Principles of Change Management Training Course

A new qualification - A three day training course with theory and practical application leading to the APM Group's Principles of Change Management Qualification.

What is this Qualification?

The Principles of Change Management Qualification is a new qualification from the APM Group (APMG)

  • The APMG is the UK based organisation that administers the standards and qualifications for PRINCE2™ (a standard for project delivery)and ITIL® (a standard for service delivery). These are two internationally recognized standards.
  • In 2006, APMG developed the Principles of Change Management qualification around Making Sense of Change Management by Cameron and Green.
  • The assessment is a one hour multiple choice exam.
  • Just as with ITIL® and PRINCE2™, organisations, course material and trainers are assessed and accredited by the APMG.

Course Details This three day course covers the ideas and concepts of Change Management, leading to the Principles of Change Management Qualification. It includes:-

  • Individuals. How they learn, why change is difficult, psychological approaches.
  • Teams. Team dynamics, personalities and roles in teams and why it is important to have diversity.
  • Organisations. Different models of organisation and their relationship to change approaches.
  • Leadership. What is a leader, the roles of leaders, styles and skills, leadership through change.
  • Change in a project environment. A short module suggesting how the different theories and tools can be used through the life of a project or change management initiative.
  • The Principles of Change Management Exam
  • Practice exam questions.
  • Making Sense of Change Management by Cameron & Green is included as well as full course materials.

Change Management Training - USA

Prosci and the Change Management Learning Center offer the most comprehensive options for change management training. Customers range from the United Nations to some of the largest Fortune 500 companies in more than 20 countries. All training options use results from Prosci's research with more than 900 companies world-wide.

3 day change management program. Requires 2 hours of pre-course work by students and 1 evening activity - course also requires a laptop. Sessions are held at Peaceful Valley Ranch and the historic Stanley Hotel in the Colorado Rocky Mountains as well as other beautiful locations from coast to coast.

The program is intense but fun. At the end of the course, participants are certified in Prosci's Change Management methodology and are able to lead their organizations successfully through incremental and radical changes.

Graduate Certificate in Change Management

The AGSM Graduate Certificate in Change Management Program is specifically designed for practising managers and can be completed in as little as 1 year or you can take up to a maximum of 4 years.

The program is delivered completely online using eLearning technology.

The GCCM is centred around action learning (also called ‘experiential learning') which involves drawing on your personal experiences to formulate new concepts. Course exercises and issues relevant to your organisation form the content of the GCCM program.Readings from the course materials and online discussions with study colleagues encourage you to analyse your job experiences in a structured way. The aim is to develop your capacity to formulate new concepts and apply them to course projects and your workplace.

There are 4 courses in the GCCM and each must be successfully completed:

  1. Approaches to Change
  2. Change Skills
  3. Redesigning the Organisation
  4. Systems for Change

The objective of the GCCM is to develop effective agents of change. You and your course colleagues will learn how to influence organisational change, both through your own actions and those of others. The program provides the theoretical foundation for understanding organisational change and the practical skills to facilitate the development and implementation of change statistics successfully.
